The board of directors of PPG (NYSE:PPG) today approved a 3-cents-per-share increase in the company’s dividend, declaring a regular quarterly dividend of 48 cents per share, payable Sept. 12 to shareholders of record Aug. 10.

“This 7-percent increase in our per-share quarterly dividend is a reflection of the strong cash generation of our business portfolio and reaffirms our commitment to reward our shareholders with sustainable dividend increases,” said Vince Morales, PPG senior vice president and chief financial officer.

PPG’s prior quarterly dividend was 45 cents per share.

This marks the company’s 480^th consecutive dividend payment. The company has raised its annual dividend payout for 46 consecutive years and paid uninterrupted annual dividends since 1899.
