The center received the certification for energy and environmental efficiency. Elements that were highlighted include:

• Optimized energy performance – 35% better than standards
• Efficient water fixtures and irrigation – 40% better than standards
• Construction waste reuse and management – saving over 50% of debris from landfills
• Reflective roof installation to reduce solar heat
• Ten percent reuse of resources and recycled content
